Ieuan Williams - new FC Wales land agent
A farmer’s son from Cardigan with a wealth of experience managing a London Borough’s rural estate has returned to Wales following his appointment as a Land Agent by Forestry Commission Wales. Born and raised on the family farm in Ferwig, just outside Cardigan Ieuan Williams has joined the Commission as Area Land Agent for its Llanymddyfri Forest District which extends from the coast of Pembrokeshire to the Wye Valley, Monmouthshire.
As Area Land Agent, Ieuan is the in-house specialist providing legal and professional land management advice in relation to 35,000 Ha of Welsh Assembly woodland estate. In particular, Ieuan will deal with land acquisition and disposal matters, buildings management, the negotiation of wayleaves and the issue of legal permissions. Prior to his appointment, Ieuan was responsible for the London Borough of Hillingdon’s 1,000 Ha (2,500 acre) estate, comprising of agricultural holdings, commercial lettings, sporting rights, conservation and equestrian land. A member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Ieuan holds a BSc Honours degree in Rural Estate Management from Seale-Hayne Agricultural College, University of Plymouth and a BTEC HND in Land Administration from NEWI (now Glyndwr University), Wrexham. He is a fluent Welsh speaker. Forestry Commission Wales’s Country Land Agent Antony Wallis said, "I am very pleased that Ieuan has joined Forestry Commission Wales. "His personable style will endear him to colleagues inside and outside of the Commission and he adds to the skill set of our talented team of Land Agents." |
